Hamama Wheatgrass & Nectarine Lemonade

My favorite part of our Hamama Community is all the great recipe ideas I get from my fellow Hamama friends-- so I'd like to share one of my own. I love the benefits of wheatgrass but do not own a juicer, so I went to work on experimenting making a smoothie with a blender, or a Magic Bullet, which is my staple in the kitchen. Here is my recipe and pictures to go along. I am so surprised at how good this tastes. And so easy to make.

Ingredients:

 

· 1 bunch of freshly harvested Hamama wheatgrass
· 1 piece of lemon
· 1 – 2 pieces of Nectarine (the more nectarine, the sweeter the taste)
· 3 carrot sticks
· ½ cup water

 

Instructions:

 

Throw everything in the blender (Magic Bullet) add a bit of water and blend. The more you blend, the finer the smoothie. I like mine a bit thicker. It feels like I’m eating/drinking a meal.

Hi Janet!

Thanks for getting in touch :) You are correct in saying that Wheatgrass straight up is pretty fibrous. It is truly a grass and difficult to digest for humans without processing it. Therefore, we recommend mixing it up into a smoothie, drying, or juicing it!

I heard it has to be juiced. The fiber is not healthy for the gut. Is this true?
