Do Something Nice Day

Do Something Nice Day

Hello Hamama Friends!

We all know that kind words or a nice gesture, whether it be to a loved one or a complete stranger, can brighten up their entire day! If you didn’t already know, today is “Do Something Nice Day” and we’re here to provide you with some simple ways that you can make someone's day! We know that we should be doing nice things for others every day of the year without having to think about it. But with busy lives, we often forget to slow down and show kindness and appreciation to others.

😊 Give that Friend/Family Member a Call or Text

Doing something nice does not have to equal a ton of time, creativity or effort on your part. Sometimes the nicest gestures are the small ones that come right from the heart! One small act that you can do today is call or text someone that you love. These days it’s so easy to get caught up in the juggling act of work, school, kids, chores, meal prep, etc. so it’s so nice to get an unexpected call from a dear friend or family member. We often get so busy that we forget to check in with the people we care about most! Make it a point today to pick up your phone and get the conversation started; both you and your loved one on the receiving end will be so glad you did!

💞 Writing a Thinking about you Card

If you really want to make someone smile from ear to ear, send a written letter. Imagine opening up your mail and getting something other than a bill, hehe! I know that would certainly make my day! Cards and letters are a great way to do something nice for someone and let them know you are thinking of them. It is extra thoughtful because it shows that you took the time and effort to write out your endearments and that in itself will make the recipient feel so special! Snail mail for the win! 💚️

                                                                   😇 Send a Gift

Who doesn’t love to receive gifts on random occasions?! Today is the perfect day to send a special someone in your life a thoughtful & meaningful life meaningful gift! ! This could be something you’ve heard them talk about in prior conversations or a total surprise that you know they’ll love! If your creative juices aren’t flowing, some gifts that are always a hit might include a fresh bouquet of flowers / new houseplant (or Hamama Microgreen Kit 😉), a home-cooked meal, cookies / bakery or even a coffee from the local coffee shop. If you want to spread a little Hamama joy, grab our new Organic Olive Oil and Barrel - Aged Balsamic Vinegar Set! Last year, we gave some great ideas on how to be a good neighbor! You can check out that blog post here! There is nothing better than your neighbor opening their mailbox and seeing some fresh Hamama greens! It makes the perfect gift for a friend or family member who loves to cook; it will surely make them feel so special inside!

The overall objective for the day is just to spread kindness, love and happiness to someone else! You would be so surprised by how much a little niceness will do for a person! Here are some other ideas that you can do to spread kindness and joy throughout the day:

  • Mow your neighbor’s lawn
  • Volunteer for a day at a charity
  • Make a donation
  • Let someone in front of you in line
  • Babysit for a friend
  • Say hello to everyone you come across on your morning run
  • Put some coins in an expired meter
  • Give up your seat on public transport
  • Hug someone
  • Pay a compliment to every person you come in contact with (or as many as you can!)
  • Smile at a stranger
  • Cook a meal for someone
  • Bring flowers to a friend
  • Hold the elevator for someone
  • Pick up litter

We’d love to hear about what nice things you did for someone else or what someone did for you!😊️ Share your experiences in the comments below!
