3 Amazing Uses of Fenugreek Microgreens

Fully grown homegrown fenugreek microgreens in a grow tray.

The limited edition Fragrant Fenugreek Seed Quilt is one not to miss!  Fenugreek microgreens are aromatic, juicy, and a staple ingredient in Indian cuisine.  Use your homegrown fenugreek microgreens fresh, frozen, or dried for an amazing digestive aid and unique flavor addition.

To use fresh, harvest from your HAMAMA Grow Kit and eat right away!  To freeze, simply place your harvested microgreens in a tupperware or baggie and put in the freezer for later use in smoothies or stir-fries. To dry, spread your microgreens on a sheet and bake at the lowest temperature setting for 20 minutes. Then mix into sauces, use for tea, or sprinkle on top of dishes as a spice!

Of course I think fresh is always best - so here are a few of my favorite ways to use my homegrown fenugreek microgreens so far.

1) Fresh Start Breakfast Smoothie

What You'll Need

- 1/4 of a Fragrant Fenugreek Seed Quilt
- 1 banana
- 1 handful fresh mint
- 1/4 cup rolled outs
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1 tsp cinnamon

How to Prepare

Blend ingredients until desired consistency is reached, and top with a sprig of mint!

2) Invigorating Hummus and Veggie Sandwich

What You'll Need

- 1/4 of a Fragrant Fenugreek Seed Quilt
- 2 slices sprouted grain bread
- 1/4 cucumber, sliced
- 1/2 roasted red pepper hummus
- 2 slices tomato
- 1/4 red pepper, sliced

How to Prepare

Spread hummus onto bread and top with tomatoes, cucumber, red pepper, and fenugreek microgreens. Top with the second slice and chomp away!

3) Soothing Digestive Tea

- 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
- 1 tsp sugar or other sweetener

How to Prepare

Place fenugreek microgreens and minced ginger in a stainless steel tea infuser.  Let steep in a mug of hot water for 10 minutes, then sweeten.  Sip, relax, and revel in the cleansing feeling :)

So, a 1/4 of a tray for ONE smoothie? Not gonna last me for long. May have to get another tray, but boy! That price! For a plastic tray?

Loved the way the greens sprouted so quickly and full, and started using them in my smoothies with mango and banana. This is a step toward much healthier eating for me, and I’m hoping my family will get on board too. I’m curious to see if my chickens will eat up the seed mats rather than composting. I’ll let you know.
