Traditional crab rangoons consist of wontons stuffed with crab meat, cream cheese, garlic, green onions and Worcestershire sauce. The wontons are then either baked or fried until crispy. We present to you a healthy vegetarian version of these tasty snacks made with homegrown Lion's Mane mushrooms! They're perfectly crunchy on the outside, creamy on the inside and totally satisfying. A must-try!

  • 8 oz Lion's Mane mushrooms
  • 8 oz cream cheese or vegan cream cheese
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 12 wonton wrappers
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • Deep frying oil
  • Sweet Chili sauce, for dipping (optional)

  1. Tear the mushrooms into bite-sized pieces. Toss in oil and garlic and roast in the oven for 20-30 minutes at 350 F.
  2. Chop or pulse the cooked mushrooms in a food processor.
  3. Mix mushrooms with the cream cheese, garlic and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Add about 1 tsp of filling to the center of each wonton wrapper.
  5. Brush the edges of the wonton with the egg and pinch the corners together to form a four-cornered star, making sure there is no trapped air
  6. Fry in 350 degree oil until browned and crispy, about 1-2 minutes.
  7. Transfer to a wire rack. Serve with your favorite sauce & enjoy!
