November 15th is a day to participate in America Recycles Day! This day brings forth millions of people from around the world to raise awareness of recycling and reusing products¹.

America Recycles Day was created by the National Recycling Coalition in 1997. It is meant to encourage all to recycle and come together to informative events hosted by lots of organizations to learn and take care of our planet. This day is also brought on by the President and through the program, Keep America Beautiful. This organization is one of the largest non-profit communities that inspires and educates people to take action to improve their environment around them and the world¹.

With all the waste in our world, it’s great to learn how to reuse and repurpose!

You can shop at second hand stores, reduce the amount of plastic you use and repurpose old items you have lying around.

Here are a few things we do to help out our planet:

1. We use as many compostable products as possible rather than single-use plastic.
2. We use recycled, recyclable, and compostable materials for our packaging and our seed quilts.

3. We help to offset our carbon footprint in several different ways. For example, we've partnered with our friends at Pachama to protect forests and offset Hamama's carbon emissions with reforestation projects in Brazil!

4. We use the perfect size for packaging to reduce the overall amount of waste and wasted space necessary.

5. We offer larger seed quilt bundles that help decrease the amount of shipping material and we offer ceramic grow trays as well!

6. We also upcycle! Check out some of our Hamama Growers who make the most of our products!
